It is announced for the information of the general public that in accordance with the University of Cape Coast Statutes 2012, and on the recommendation of the Academic Board, the University Council has approved proposals for the establishment of five colleges for the University with effect from 1st August 2014. The colleges are as follows:

a. College of Humanities and Legal Studies

b. College of Education Studies

c. College of Natural and Agricultural Sciences

d. College of Health and Allied Sciences

e. College of Distance Education

The idea of organizing the University into a Collegiate System is to pool resources, strengthen potentials and provide an opportunity to deliver better services to students (clients). It will also create an
interdisciplinary and trans-disciplinary teaching and learning and research environment. The Collegiate system is also geared towards the devolution of some areas of administration to the colleges to allow for efficiency in the delivery of services such as thelibrary, information technology, staff and student recruitment and welfare.

In line with the changes, Council has also approved recommendations for the appointment of Ag.Provosts to oversee and ensure the effective running and management of the newly established Colleges.
