Ghana Records Two Cases of CONVID-19

The Ministry of Health has confirmed that two people have tested positive for the novel Coronavirus also known as CONVID-19.

One of the infected persons is a senior official of the Norwegian Embassy in Ghana and the other person is a Ghanaian working in Turkey who just returned home.

A release from the Ministry of Health said samples of blood of the infected persons were sent to Noguchi Memorial Institute for Medical Research after the two person exhibited symptoms of the viral disease.

In view of that, both patients are currently being kept in isolation and are stable.

The Ministry of Health further states  that they have initiated processes for contact tracing.  

The statement said the ministry wishes to assure all Ghanaians that government is working to curb the spread of the disease.

The ministry encouraged Ghanaians to be cautious of their health and that of their families by adhering to safety precautions.

Symptoms of the global pandemic include fever, cough and difficult in breathing.
