It has come to the attention of the publicity committee members responsible for social media publications of the Student Representative Council (SRC) of University of Cape Coast (UCC) that there is in circulation, a purported notice which alleges that the SRC, together with Graduate Students Association of Ghana (GRASAG) has held a meeting with the University Authorities to levy each student GH 50 cedis effective next academic year towards the purchase of fuel to power the University’s generators.

The council wishes to refute the said notice in circulation and to put on public records that there has not been any meeting whatsoever to levy students.

The SRC and GRASAG are aware of the current economic conditions in the country and will never think of adding insults to injury to burden parents and guardians..

WHAT MAKES THE NOTICE PATENTLY FALSE AND UNTRUE..

1) The purported notice claims students are to pay the levy at Access Bank. The council wishes to place on record that UCC has no account at Access Bank..Undoubtedly, UCC works with the following Banks:ADB,GCB,Zenith,Prudential, and NIB..

2) There was no signature on the notice to authenticate the source. We challenge students to take cursory look at the various notices on the approved notice boards on campus to ascertain the truth or otherwise.

CAUTION

The council wishes to warn the people behind the FALSE NOTICE in circulation to be very careful not to paint the SRC heartless and callous in the eyes of the well-meaning students…We know the perpetrators of this evil circulation would be caught and made to face the full rigours of the law…

The SRC wishes to advise potential candidates to embark on clean and decent campaign devoid of black Propaganda, vilification, mudslinging, malicious gossips and
inflammatory statements.

Thank you and God Bless us all.
