The University of Cape Coast for the 2019/2020 academic year has admitted seven thousand four hundred and one (7,401) students to pursue various programmes. This registers an increase of one thousand four hundred and thirty nine (I, 439) more students admitted compared to the previous academic year which was five thousand, nine hundred and sixty- two (5,962).
Of the number, two hundred and three (203) are PhD students, five hundred and fifty-one (551) master students and six thousand six hundred and forty seven (6647) undergraduate students.
At the matriculation ceremony held on Saturday, Vice Chancellor of the University, Professor Joseph Ghartey Ampiah advised the students to take advantage of the wide range of knowledge and learning experiences the university offers.
He was quick to caution them against disregarding stipulated university rules and regulations since the university maintains a zero tolerance for any act that would hinder its tranquility.
Prof. Ghartey Ampiah further added that the university will remain committed to its basic objective of assisting its students reach their academic goals.
