UCC SRC President Appoints Judicial Board Members

The Students’ Representative Council(SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) president, Mr. Francis Arthur, has appointed seven students to serve on the SRC Judicial Board.

The Board which is headed by His Lordship, Justice Abdul Matheen Sali, seeks to interpret the SRC constitution;settle disputes between or among students; adjudicate election complaints,among others.

A statement signed by the SRC president and copied to Choicism.Com on Tuesday evening said:

“Persuant to the 2009/10 SRC Constitution, this Board is mandated to address all students disciplinary and constitutional issues.”

The Board, the statement noted, had been approved by the Executive Council (Highest Decision Body of the SRC) of the Student government.

Speaking to Choicism, Chief Justice Abdul Matheen Sali said that the Board would dispense justice without fear or favour.

He urged students to channel all their grievances and complaints to the board for prompt settlement.

“Students who feel things are not going on right in the JCRC, the SRC, Committees among others, can petition the Board.

“Issue of petitioning the university management through the Office of the DEAN OF STUDENTS AFFAIRS has ended. Students are expected to exhaust all students’ internal mechanism before proceeding to the Office of the Dean of Students Affairs.” he advised.
