UCC SRC Warns Students To Be Security Cautious

The leadership of the UCC SRC has cautioned the entire students of the University of Cape Coast on the state of insecurity on campus following an attack on some students on their way to their hostel on the night of Monday, May 7, 2018.

According to a press release by the leadership of the SRC on Tuesday, May 8, 2018, as part of steps taken to help prevent the situation, they entreat all victims of the recent attacks to contact the SRC General Secretary, Miss Kumba Tamba on 0572205489 or the SRC PRO, Mr. Latif Lawrence Jorhowie on 0547013452.

They further entreat all UCC students to be security conscious by putting up these basic ways of escaping an attack on campus.

“Avoid walking alone at night (with or without valuables), rather seek an escort from any security person in extreme instances. Make sure your rooms are well locked and kept safe before sleeping. Report suspicious people to security personnel immediately you spot them. Avoid taking valuables to examination centres.”

The SRC also expressed their  pain at the current situation.
