UCC Steps up Measures to Stop COVID-19, Bans all International Conferences on Campus

The Management of the University Of Cape Coast (UCC) in conjunction with the Central Regional Health Directorate has taken proactive measures aimed at stopping any potential outbreak of the Novel Coronavirus (COVID-19) on campus.

The measures include a temporary ban on all international conferences on campus as well as a suspension of international travel of staff and workers of the institution.

In a circular issued and signed by the university’s management, it said these measures are part of a wide range of mechanisms the university would review from time to time to safeguard the lives of people within the university community.

The management has made it clear to staff abroad to contact 024785230 upon their arrival into the country to be quarantined for at least five (5) days to be sure they are safe and sound and haven’t contracted the virus before they can return to their various offices.

As part of the measures, the management is working on the provision of hand sanitizers at vantage points on the University campus whilst heads of departments and office holders are to provide hand sanitizers in their offices.

Internal program organizers on campus have also been urged to make hand sanitizers available during their programs.
