Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah Appointed as Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor

Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah has been appointed as the Acting Pro-Vice-Chancellor for the University of Cape Coast from October 1- December 31, 2012.

The appointment is in accordance with statute 10.6 of the University of Cape Coast Statutes, 2012 which states that “ Should a vacancy occur in the office of the Pro Vice-Chancellor arising from death, resignation or removal, when the substantive officeholder has served for a period less than half the term of office,  the Vice-Chancellor shall appoint any person of Professorial status to act as Pro Vice-Chancellor for the period up till the forthcoming December 31st and the Vice-Chancellor  shall take steps set out in statute 10.2 to ensure that the vacancy is duly filled by election.

It will be recalled that following the appointment of the immediate past Pro Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole as Vice-Chancellor, the position of the Pro Vice-Chancellor became vacant hence the appointment of Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah.
