The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) will be organising a business competition as part of its week celebration this year, 2017.
The competition, Africa’s Biggest Idea Challenge which will be launched on the Friday, 17th February 2017 is aimed at unearthing the entrepreneurship skills within students on campus.
Speaking on Atl fm’s “A Week on Campus” on Saturday, 11th February, 2017, the Public Relations Officer (PRO) of the SRC, Mr. Felix Amihere stated that this challenge is going to bring together well known business personalities and up-and-coming young ones.
“We are putting up this initiative to bring renowned entrepreneurs close to young entrepreneurs”, he said.
He again added that this will help young entrepreneurs who aspire to achieve higher in the cooperate world since the challenge will draw them closer to industries.
Students are required to submit business ideas which are very creative and detailed. They can do this individually or in a groups of five members (or less).
The submitted business ideas will go through a series of be shortlisting and then be up for voting.
The SRC PRO disclosed that at the end of the challenge, students stand the chance of winning great prizes such as huge amount of money which can be a start up for developing their ideas.
