The University of Cape Coast (UCC) yesterday increased their tally at the ongoing 8th Mini GUSA Games at the Cape Coast Stadium with eleven gold medals, 4 silver medals and 2 bronze medals to top the men’s category.
Other participating schools are University for Development Studies (UDS) which came second with 3 gold medals, 5 silver and 5 bronze medals followed by the University of Ghana (UG) with 2 gold medals, 7 silver and 6 bronze medals.
The University of Education, Winneba (UEW) also came fourth with 1 gold medal, 1 silver medals and 3 bronze medals. The University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) came fifth with 1 bronze medal with University of Mines and Technology (UMAT) taking the sixth position with no medal.
In the women’s category, UDS came first with 8 gold medals, 6 silver medals and 6 bronze medals whilst UCC followed closely with 7 gold medals, 6 silver and 4 bronze medals.
UG came third with 1 gold medal, 1 silver medal and 1 bronze medal. UNER were fourth with 2 silver medals. Fifth was UEW with 1 silver and 4 bronze medals with UMaT and University of Health and Allied Sciences taking the sixth and seventh positions respectively.
The competition continues today, Thursday, January 10 with UEW facing off UDS in the men’s football finals.
