The University of Cape Coast (UCC) has once again been crowned champions at the just ended 8th Mini Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) games with a total of 20 gold, 11 silver and 6 bronze medals. UCC also won the 7th edition of the mini GUSA games.
Coming closely behind UCC was the University for Development Studies (UDS) which came second with 13 gold medals, 11 silver and 12 bronze medals. UDS displayed beautiful football skills in the men’s football final after thrashing the University of Education, Winneba (UEW) by two goals to nil.
The University of Ghana (UG) managed the third spot with 4 gold medals, 9 silver and 10 bronze medals with UEW coming fourth with 1 gold medal, 5 silver medals and 9 bronze medals.
The rest were the University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) which came fifth with 2 silver medals, the University of Professional Studies, Accra (UPSA) was sixth, University of Mines and Technology (UMaT) came seventh with University of Health and Allied Sciences taking the eighth position.
For winning the mini GUSA games, UCC will have the highest number of Ghana’s contingent for the World University Games in Italy.
