UCC Receives Books Donation

UCC has taken delivery of books on various disciplines valued at several thousands of United States dollars.

The books were donated through the efforts of Prof. Stephen Mecca of the Department of Engineering–Physics-Systems, Providence College, USA and a Visiting Scholar at the Department of Computer Engineering, Faculty of Engineering Science, University of Ghana. This was facilitated by Madam Hannah Davis, the Executive Director of the Ghana Sustainable Aid Project (GSAP).

The donation formed part of the distribution of over 90,000 books to Universities, Colleges of Education, community libraries, second cycle and basic schools in Ghana to enhance teaching and learning through the GSAP initiative.

The Dean of the Faculty of Education, Prof. Joseph Ghartey Ampiah and Dr. (Mrs.) Christine Adu-Yeboah, Senior Lecturer, Institute of Education linked up with Prof. Mecca to make the donation possible.

The Vice-Chancellor, Prof. D. D. Kuupole formally received the books on behalf of the university at the forecourt of the Institute of Education, North Campus.
