Some former students of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), who are currently reading Master’s programs in different universities in the United States, set records by winning various positions and awards in their respective schools.
It is interesting to note that these students, all graduated from UCC in 2020 with bachelor’s degrees in Communication Studies, and now into different communication sub-fields.

Felicity Sena Dogbatse studies MA Communication Studies (International/Intercultural Communication) at the Bowling Green State University (BGSU), Ohio State.
Felicity has a research interest in Feminism & Gender Studies, New Media Communication, Intercultural and Conflict studies.
Position won: Assistant Debate & Forensic Coach.
Awards won: 1. Certificate in Teaching Excellence, Communication Theory (2022). 2. Ghana’s Representative in Girl’s Scout World Thinking Day Event (2022). 3. Assisted the BGSU Forensic Team to National Victory as 1st in Parliamentary Debate and 3rd in the entire tournament.
Fredrick Daoyenikye studies MA Communication Studies (Political Communication/Rhetoric, and Communication Technologies) at the New Mexico State University (NMSU), New Mexico State.
Fredrick’s study interest is in Political Polarization, Misinformation, and how they influence electoral processes and outcomes through social network sites.
Position won: President, Graduate Students’ Association (GSA), Department of Communication Studies, NMSU.
Benjamin Brew Sam-Paintsil is studying MA Communication Studies (Health Communication and Public Relations) at the Illinois State University (ISU), Illinois State.
Position won: President, Graduate Students’ Association, School of Communication, ISU.
Evans Dwomo Ankrah studies MA Communication Studies (Intercultural communication) at Texas Techn University, Texas State.
He has a research interest in Religious Communication
Award won: Outstanding Service Award to a Graduate Instructor in the Fall 2021 and Spring 2022 semesters in the Department of Communication Studies, Texas Tech University.
Michael Ofori is studying MA Communication Studies (International/Intercultural Communication) at the Bowling Green State University (BGSU), Ohio State.
Michael’s research interest is in Political Communication/Rhetoric, Peace and Conflict studies with a focus on extremism and counter-extremism narratives and their media framing between the global north and south.
Positions won: 1. Academic Affairs Representative, Graduate Students Senate- BGSU. 2. Treasurer, Graduate Communication Association- BGSU.
