Supreme, a contender for the SRC presidency race on Friday, 14th February, 2014 donated items worth several cedis to the Ankaful Psychiatric Hospital as part of his social responsibility to the inmates on Valentine’s Day.
Apasipanga Collins, known in student political front as Supreme, his running mate Rita Ofosuhemaa, as well as many other people who form the Team Supreme including Gideon Abotsi presented the items which included food items, toiletries, used clothing, used shoes and many more.
Receiving the items on behalf of the hospital, Mrs. Adiza Nelson, a staff member of the hospital thanked the team for their kind gesture, urging others to emulate the action and calling on philanthropist and benevolent organizations to continue to support the inmate, stressing that government alone cannot provide everything.
Speaking to the media after the donation Supreme said that he was touched by the need to help the socially handicapped and the vulnerable in society and therefore decided together with his team to come and show their love to the inmates as we celebrate Valentine’s Day.
He said, the idea was conceived long ago but they were saddled with some little challenges but thanked God for opening the gate to realize that dream.
He maintained that the gesture was solely funded by his team and other well wishes and thanked all those who contributed their widow’s mite for the realization of that goal.
