The Management of the University of Cape Coast can now confirm that the body which was found on the morning of Wednesday 15th of February 2014 at Amamoma, a community near the University was that of 19 year old Godwin Chukwudi Ayogu.
Godwin Chukwudi Ayogu, a Nigerian National was admitted into the University of Cape Coast at the beginning of the 2011/2012 Academic year to pursue a Bachelor of Arts (Social Sciences). He was due to enter level 300 at the beginning of the 2013/2014 academic year, but failed to register with the university. He was therefore at the time of his death not a registered student of the University.
A team led by the head of Chancellery at the Nigerian High Commission in Ghana, the father of the deceased as well as other family members from Nigeria has since held discussions with University Management on the unfortunate incident.
The Cape Coast Metropolitan Police are currently investigating the incident.
The Vice Chancellor wishes to extend the condolences of Management, Staff, Students and the entire University community to the bereaved family.
