Kwaku Sekyi Hughes, known in student front as Ghanahene, a student activist, has presented gifts worth several cedis to the patients of the children ward of the University of Cape Coast Hospital in the form of his social support as part activities to mark his birthday celebration.
The gifts, which were presented to the hospital amidst cheers and thanks-giving, included assorted drinks, soaps, toiletries, detergents among others.
Donating the items to the ward, Ghanahene noted that, he was motivated to assist the ward when he was admitted at the hospital the year before, and it was then that he promised to reciprocate the nice gesture by the hospital health workers in whatever way he can.
He noted that, children are integral part of the family and must therefore, be shown love and compassion in their difficult times.
“I want them to feel that they have not been left out of social life, even though they are sick and bed-ridden,” he noted.
Ghanahene therefore encouraged corporate societies and benevolent organizations to assist in the worthy cause of putting smiles on the children’s face.
Directorate of the University Health Service, Dr. K. K. Azeez, on his part thanked Ghanahene for his kind gesture and called on God to grant him all his wishes.
Kwaku Sekyi Hughes was supported by his colleagues including Ewacson, Tricia, Miss Vandy, among others.
Earlier, Ghanahene visited a section of the visually impaired students at UCC Sasakawa Conference Hall, all in an effort to give true meaning to his birthday celebration.
