Pro-Vice Chancellor of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Prof. John Nelson Buah and Students Representative Council(SRC) President, Mr. Francis Kwabena Arthur paid a one-day working visit to the Central Regional Electricity Company of Ghana(ECG).
The visit formed part of the School’s commitment to ensure students get constant and steady power supply to study.
The duo were received by the regional boss of the company,Mr. Anthony Egyir Aikins ,who disclosed that he would use his good offices to make sure there was constant power supply on campus to enable students burn the midnight oil ahead of their quizzes and the forthcoming examination.
For his part, Prof. Nelson Buah, thanked the management for the warm reception accorded them and charged the staff to distribute available power equitably to enable consumers to plan the use of their share of the power.
It is indisputable fact that power supply to the university community improved massively during the period of the 47th Congregation, and this was because of the intervention of the able SRC President and the Pro-Vice Chancellor.
Ghana’s total installed capacity is 28884.5mw but electricity supplied does not meet demand. This has resulted in the ongoing power rationing.
