A Rejoinder: An Apology to the SRC President Mr. Francis Kwabena Arthur

Choicism.com wish to render an unqualified apology to the SRC president of the University of Cape Coast, Mr. Francis Kwabena Arthur for a publication that was published on this platform with the title “Students Challenge the Legitimacy of Ag SRC President” on Monday, November, 10, 2014.

We wish to state that we goofed in the reportage because some of the content of that story, after careful scrutiny has proved to be inaccurate.

Some aspect of the content quoted constitutional articles purported to be the operational or working document of the student republic of the University of Cape Coast, but after a thorough investigation, we have come to the realization that the fellow quoted from the revised SRC constitution which was promulgated by the General Assembly’s Special Committee on Constitutional Review (GASCCR) in March 2013.

This constitution, per our search, has not yet received the signature of the Dean of Students to validate it content as the operational document of the student republic of the University of Cape Coast and therefore that constitution is not the current operational constitution of the student republic of University of Cape Coast.

Choicism.com therefore retract the article and its content and wish to state categorically that students in the University of Cape Coast must treat the content of that article which we published on Monday , Nov. 10 with the utmost contempt it deserves.

We therefore wish to state emphatically that we never intended to publish such an article to malign, embellish or undermine the high office his Excellency Francis Kwabena Arthur and we apologize for any inconvenience that our action must have caused his person and his high office.

We wish to reiterate our firm commitment to serving the students of this university with only accurate, balanced, factual and honest reportage that meet professional standards.
