Ankaful NTC Wins Quiz Contest over NUSA-UCC

 

The Ankaful Nursing Training College (NTC) won a quiz organised by Nursing Students’ Association (NUSA) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) as part of activities marking its 7th Annual Week Celebration.

The week celebration was on the theme, “The nurse as the co-ordinatorof the health team; promoting patients’ safety.”

After three rounds of the contest, Ankaful NTC had 61 points to win the quiz competition,whilst Cape Coast NTC came second with 57 points and NUSA-UCC had 52 points to place third.

The three rounds of questions were based on Meningitis, a serious disease in which there is inflammation of the meninges, caused by viral or bacterial infection.

A lecturer at the School of Nursing,UCC, Mr.Selasse Dzar,who was the quiz master, commended the three institutions for their performances.

For his part, the president of NUSA-UCC, Mr.Abraham Obuor Adiyia, lauded the authorities of the School of Nursing and Midwifery,students and lecturers for their support during the week-long celebration.
He congratulated Ankaful NTC on winning the competition.

The winner of the quiz competition,Ankaful NTC, was presented a citation,which read,”This is to certify that your school emerged first in the Inter-School Quiz Competition.”

The second place school,Cape Coast NTC, were given branded NUSA-UCC consummables.

NUSA-UCC, which came third,had branded NUSA-UCC exercise books,pens,wrist bands,among others.

Prior to the quiz contest, the Vice Dean of the School of Nursing and Midwifery,UCC, Dr. Samuel Nuvor,along with Ms Christiana Okantey,Co-ordinator of Adult Health, and Mrs.Patience Doe,NUSA-Patron, addressed all the concerns of students at the School which included late release of results,name tags,clinicals,internship,amongst others, during the questions-and-answers session.
