Department of History Celebrates Two Retired Lecturers

The Department of History has bestowed honours on Dr. S. Y. Boadi-Siaw and Dr. K. B. Maison in recognition of their long and dedicated services to the department at the Faculty of Arts Conference Room, North Campus.

Explaining the purpose for the function, the Head of Department of History, Dr. K. Adu-Boahen, indicated that the two renowned lecturers had impacted knowledge in the lives of several colleagues and students. He pointed out that Dr. Boadi Siaw and Dr. Maison had served the University for 42 years and 20 years respectively in various capacities at the Department and Faculty levels.

The Chairman of the function, Dr. Dora Edu-Buandoh in an address also acknowledged the two distinguished lecturers for grooming most of the current lecturers at the Department of History and the Faculty of Arts. She used the opportunity to advise staff and students present to follow the footsteps of the two celebrated lecturers by giving off their best to merit such honours in future.

Dr. Edu-Buandoh later presented a citation and a traditional cloth each to Dr. Boadi-Siaw and Dr. K. B. Maison on behalf of the Department of History.

In their acceptance speech Dr. Boadi Siaw and Dr. Maison expressed appreciation to the Department for the honours done to them.

Present at the function were staff and students of the Faculty of Arts.
