The maverick politician and Member of Parliament for Assin Central, Kennedy Agyapong has donated an amount of GHs25,000 in support of Student Emergency Relief Fund (SURF), a fund that was created to assist needy students of the University of Cape Coast.
The donation was made when the outgoing SRC executives paid a courtesy visit to his residence to present a citation to the MP for his contribution to the university.
This was disclosed by the outgoing SRC president of the University o Cape Coast, David Boakye during the handing over of the 2013/2014 SRC executives at the Auditorium 900 on Tuesday, September,16, 2014.
David Boakye stated that a total of 97 students benefited from the fund this academic year and thanked all those who contributed to the fund.
It will be recalled that the outgoing SRC executives re-launched SURF which was also used as an occasion to recognize the contributions of Dr. Kwabena Duffour, CEO of Unibank and Kennedy Agyapong.
Kennedy Agyapong however could not make it to the occasion because he was out of the country at the time.
The SRC executives then paid a visit to the MP to present a citation to him upon his return.
The business tycoon cum politician could not hide his joy for the recognition made him and in turn donated the said amount as part of his contribution to the fund.
