NAHSAG Elects New National Executive Officers at 16th Emergency Congress

The National Health Students Association of Ghana (NAHSAG) successfully elected its National Executive Officers (NEOs) for the 2024/2025 academic year at its 16th Emergency Congress held at the Accra School of Hygiene, Korle-Bu on Saturday, 15th February 2025. 

The congress, organized by NAHSAG, brought together health students from various universities, health training institutions, and technical universities across the country.

Fabian K. Pinto Gaku emerged as the President-elect, receiving an overwhelming 243 votes in favor and 12 against. Other elected executives include Michael Darkwa Peprah as Vice President (237 Yes, 18 No), Yaa Abrafi Ankomah as General Secretary (227 Yes, 28 No), and Ethel Margaret Sebuabe as Financial Controller (217 Yes, 38 No). Lauren Baaba Annan was elected as Coordinating Secretary (238 Yes, 17 No), while Priscilla Sankofia Gyinadu became the Women’s Commissioner (238 Yes, 17 No). Malcom Nyanke-Adjei Nyanzu secured the Public, Media, and International Relations Officer (PMIRO) position (236 Yes, 19 No).

During the congress, the Interim Management Committee (IMC) assured delegates of tight security measures to ensure the smooth and safe conduct of proceedings. The newly elected executives are expected to lead NAHSAG towards strengthening health student representation and advocacy across the country.
