The General Secretary of the Students’ Representative Council, Miss Fredaline Asiedu has described the just ended book and investment fair which took place last Friday at the main library forecourt as a great success.
“It was a great success and I will call on the next administration to continue it” she said. The fair forms part of activities marking 50 years of the SRC and was held on the theme ‘Books as Guide; Investment and Opportunities’.
The aim of the fair is to encourage the culture of investment, to demystify financial investment, to encourage students’ investment into relevant books, to provide direct market opportunities for partnering institutions and to create an annual event that seeks to empower students thereby introducing them to investment avenues.
The fair brought together several players in the book, financial and telecommunication industry including UT Bank, Data Bank, 1st National Bank, SIC Insurance, Donewell Insurance, EPP Bookshop, Global Collections Bookshop among others. Other corporate bodies present included RLG who displayed their newest products onn the market.
The event was highly patronised by students, lecturers and workers of the university community.
