SRC Under Abraham Norman Nortey Fulfills Key Health Policies for UCC Students

The Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC), under the leadership of Abraham Norman Nortey, has successfully implemented several key health policies aimed at improving student welfare and access to healthcare services.

As part of its commitment to student well-being, the SRC has secured free X-rays and scans for students, regardless of their National Health Insurance Scheme (NHIS) status. This ensures that all students, irrespective of financial constraints, can access essential diagnostic services without out-of-pocket payments.

Additionally, the SRC has canceled consultation fees at the UCC Eye Clinic, making eye care services more accessible and affordable. Recognizing the importance of proper nutrition during hospitalization, the SRC has also introduced a policy to cover the cost of meals for admitted students, easing their financial burden and ensuring they receive adequate care.

These initiatives reflect the SRC’s dedication to prioritizing students’ health needs and ensuring that medical care remains accessible to all. The administration continues to work closely with university management to introduce more student-friendly policies that enhance campus life.
