Tescon Vows to Rally Behind Socrates Should Appeal be Dismissed

The Tescon President of the university of Cape Coast,  Frimpong Samuel has disclosed to choicism.com that Tescon might declare its support for Socrates should the appeal filed in the court fails to reinstate Restoration to  the SRC election race.

In a phone interview with choicism.com, the Tescon president maintained that they are highly optimistic the appeal they have filed would secure justices for their candidate, and that their detractors will never succeed.

“As far as Tescon exists on this campus, Supreme will never and ever win the SRC election” he declared.

It will be recalled that Opoku Nti Ernest (Restoration) filed two applications against the university at the Cape Coast High Commercial “B” in respect of the SRC presidential elections, following his disqualification from the SRC elections race.

The first application was an order praying the court to enforce an interlocutory injunction on the 2014/2015 SRC elections which was scheduled to come off on April, 3, 2014 until the final determination of the substantive suit.

The second case was an application for the enforcement of his fundamental human right. The judgment of this matter will bring to bear whether the applicant is qualified to contest the elections or not.  The hearing of this matter by law begins twenty-one (21) days after the respondents have been served with the notice of application.

However the Cape Coast High Court “B” dismissed the application for the enforcement of interlocutory injunction on the SRC elections, but the applicant has filed an appeal to the case.  This has compelled the Electoral Commission to put a temporary injunction on the elections awaiting the outcome of the appeal.
