The main website of the University of Cape Coast , www.ucc.edu.gh has been hacked by an anonymous hacker called Mr. Bangladesh from Bangladesh Grey Hat Hackers.
The homepage of the website now displays a contact email of the hacker and a notice of hack with a sound playing at the background.
In an era where many startups and government websites are being hacked, the motif for this particular hack is unknown. The hacker could also just be exploiting a security flaw in the Content Management System the website was built on.
Update:
The notice of hack has been taken down meanwhile the school’s students portal is currently also not accessible though it is unclear the reason for this.
We hope that the university works to restore access to the website as soon as possible.
