UCC: Resolution of Accommodation Fee Concerns

The Concerned Students’ Movement at the University of Cape Coast led by Ben-Essien extends gratitude to the University Administration for promptly addressing students’ concerns.

The movement collaborated with SRC leadership to protest an unjust over 100% increase in Hall Accommodation Fees.

Following petitions, the University Administration and Hall Management revised accommodation fees for freshers to GHS 966, except for those affiliated to Superannuation Hall, who must pay GHS 3900.

Further petitions led to the relocation of Bachelors of Commerce, Accounting students to other halls, with their revised payment now set at GHS 966, down from the initial GHS 3900.

Appreciation is extended to the student body and SRC leadership for the unwavering support in this battle.
