UCC-SRC 2019/2020 spends Ghc242,883.86 during first semester

The Students’ Representative Council, University of Cape Coast (UCC-SRC) has stated that it has spent an amount of Ghc242,883.86 during the first semester of the 2019/2020 academic.

According to a press statement signed and issued by the SRC Public Relations Officer, Fidel Osei Agyemang on Wednesday, January 1, 2020, significant portion of the amount has been spent on servicing debts the 2019/2020 executives inherited from their predecessors.

The statement states that an amount of Ghc95,000 has been spent to procure lacoste for the current level 300s who were supposed to have received their lacoste from the 2017/2018 SRC leadership.

The SRC has also paid a sum of Ghc129,200 to H.M. Boafo, a transport company for running free shuttle services for the last part of the 2018/2019 academic year.

It further indicated that while Ghc12,083.86 has been paid to Toyota Ghana to settle debts inherited from past administrations for servicing of SRC buses for a period of two years, Ghc6,600 has also been paid as debt to some shops in town for servicing SRC buses since the buses could not be sent to Toyota Ghana as a result of debt owed them.

Aside the settlement of inherited debts, the SRC has also highlighted some of its achievements so far in the press statement.
