UCC-SRC Cautions Students to Halt Processes for Online Studies

The Students’ Representative Council of the University of Cape Coast (UCC-SRC) has cautioned all students of the university to suspend all registration processes towards online studies with immediate effect until further notice.

According to the SRC, formal concerns were raised to the university management to address issues relating to internet bundle before commencing the online processes and studies, which the university management is yet to address.

The SRC made this known in a press release that was signed by the SRC President, Mr Zaki Abdul-Hamid and issued by the SRC Public Relations Officer, Mr Fidel Osei Agyemang on Friday, April 10, 2020.

The SRC has however, observed that the university management failed to address the concerns before scheduling for the commencement of the online studies following a statement that was issued by the Director of Academic Affairs, Mr Jeff Teye Onyame on Thursday, 9th April, 2020 with the heading: “RESUMPTION OFACADEMIC WORK FOR THE SECOND SEMESTER OF THE 2019/2020 ACADEMIC YEAR”.

Following several concerns that have been raised by students regarding the online studies, the SRC is of the view that if the university management does not address the concerns before commencing the online studies, it will go a long way to affect students negatively.
