In a heartfelt demonstration of commitment to student well-being, the leadership of the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) paid a courtesy visit to students receiving care at the University Hospital. The visit aimed to reassure students of the SRC’s unwavering dedication to their welfare and to assess the impact of ongoing health initiatives.
During the visit, the SRC President, His Excellency Abraham Norman Nortey, and the Secretary engaged with the Director of University Health Services to discuss the progress of student-centered health policies. The SRC commended the Health Committee for their tireless efforts in implementing key initiatives, which have significantly improved healthcare access for students.

Under the leadership of H.E. Abraham Norman Nortey, the SRC has successfully introduced the following health interventions
1. Cancellation of Consultation Fees at the Optometry Unit.
2. Provision of Free Healthy Meals for hospitalized students.
3. Establishment of a Designated Consultation Room exclusively for students.
4. Creation of a Dedicated Laboratory Section for students.
Additionally, students can look forward to upcoming initiatives currently in the pipeline:
1. 24/7 Emergency Transport Services to ensure timely medical assistance.
2. Partnership with Kingsway Pharmacy to provide medication support.
3. Free Vaccinations and Health Screenings to promote preventive healthcare.
4. A Blood Bank Initiative to improve emergency blood supply for
emergencies
The visit not only strengthened the bond between the SRC and the student community but also reinforced the council’s resolve to advocate for policies that enhance student health and well-being.
