UCC Wins 20th GUSA Cross-Country

 

 

The University of Cape Coast (UCC) on Saturday, November 7, 2015 won the 20th Ghana Universities Sports Association (GUSA) Cross-Country held at the university of Education,Winneba.

UCC placed first in both the Male and Female category.


Speaking to Choicism.Com, the Chairman of UCC Sports Recreation Committe,Dr. Charles Domfeh, praised the athletes for winning the trophy.

For his part, Dr. Daniel Apaak,UCC Athletics Coach, called for massive support for Team UCC to win the upcoming GUSA games in January 2016 so as to defend its title as defending champions.

The visibly elated Vice Chancellor of UCC, Prof. D.D Kuupole,who was present at the event to support Team UCC,observed that he was satisfied with the performance of the team and urged them to train hard to win the GUSA games next year.

Prof Kuupole added that UCC is not called the University of Competitive Choice for nothing,adding,”When we say things; we mean them. we walk our talk”.

He reiterated his outfit continuous support for the team in the forthcoming GUSA games.

BOYS’ CATEGORY:

1ST – UCC (40 points)

2nd -University of Education,UEW (52pts)

3rd- University of Ghana (59pts)

4th-KNUST (188 pts)

5th- UDS (252 pts)

6th-University of Professional Studies (262 pts)

7th- University of Mines and Technology[UMaT] 297 pts

8th- University of Health University of Energy and Natural Resources (UENR) 304 pts

Godwin Adobole, UEW, was adjudged the best athlete in the male category,whilst Agnes Mahama,UEW, was crown the best athlete in the female category.

UCC’s Emmanuel Duah and Marriam Pomaa Donfeh, had the 2nd and 7th position respectively in both the male and female category.
