Mr. Christian Philip Armah, President of the University Students’ Association of Ghana (USAG) and his Executives paid a solidarity visit to Hon. Yaw Osarfo Marfo, Senior Advisor to the President of the Republic on Wednesday.
We applauded Hon. Marfo for his commitment towards serving the nation and the feat chalked in his outfit and in previous positions including former minister of education.
In the meeting, the leadership of USAG reiterated the issues of unemployment especially for the Ghanaian university graduate and the need for government to consider the Ghanaian university student as well as graduate in programmes and projects related to the African Continental Free Trade Area Agreement (AfCTA).
We relayed concerns from member SRCs on Accommodation and Hikes in Hostel prices, Security threats, Delay in the disbursement of grants from the Scholarship Secretariat and the Students Loan Trust Fund (SLTF).
The leadership seized the opportunity to plead that he aides in fast tracking the cabinet memo on the Ghana card policy (I.e. NO GUARANTOR) for SLT Fund.
University Education; a key to National development.
