The much anticipated PSA@5 anniversary celebration was finally launched on Friday, 5th October, 2012 at the Sasakawa Conference Hall of the University of Cape Coast. Various dignitaries including lecturers of the department attended the august occasion.
Speaking on the theme “National Peace and inter-party tolerance, the role of the psychologist” the Chairman of the gathering Dr. Mark Amponsah, a lecturer and an examination coordinator of the Department of Educational Foundations used various psychological perspectives such as that of Sigmund Freud, Erikkson and Abraham Maslow to digest the topic of the day to the admiration of all present.
In his key note address, the association’s President Mr. John Afful popularly known as Sir John stressed the need for all students to treat the association and its activities with all the kindest respect that it deserved. He also disclosed that plans were far advanced in purchasing a photocopier machine for the association and called on all benevolent organizations and well-wishers to help realize this noble dream.
The official launch was characterized with the unveiling of a banner, programme of activities, PSA@5 Lacoste and a fund raising which saw Lecturers donate to the association.
The launching ceremony ended with refreshment of all students present.
