The Lizakye Foundation (TLF) has donated assorted items to the children at the New Life Children’s Home, Nungua on Boxing Day as part of its effort to give hope and love to orphaned children across the nation.
Dubbed the “Holiday of Hope Project” it forms part of the foundation’s annual outreach programme aimed at giving hope and creating a feeling of belonging to orphaned children.
The Foundation donated assorted items including bags of rice, cooking oil, tin tomatoes, drinks, biscuits, toiletries and detergents.
Ms Elizabeth Asabea Kyere, Executive Director, said giving hope to the needy was one of the key issues that the foundation seeks to propagate, by supporting orphanages on every Boxing Day, adding that this year’s was the second time the Foundation was donating to children and caregivers of orphanages
She appealed to Christians to allow Jesus to be born in their hearts as they celebrate his birth and the good message of salvation to the world.
This, she noted, would allow them to model their lives according to the life of their saviour Jesus Christ by sharing with the poor and needy in society

Ms Asabea said the foundation has had a wonderful year working in the areas of education, humanitarian assistance and livelihood empowerment with efforts at reviving hopes and restoring dreams of all children.
“The Foundation had so far come up with projects such as ‘Donate a Pen for Excellence’, ‘Back to School Outreach’ and ‘Holiday of Hope’ targeted for this year” she added.
Rev. Cephas Mensah Afotey (Nii Afotey Botwe III), Director of the New Life Nungua Children’s Home on behalf of the home, expressed profound gratitude to the foundation for coming to their aid at a time when the home was in dying need of such kindness.
He said fire recently destroyed part of their building and therefore the donation was timely and called on other philanthropic groups to come to the aid of the Home.
