Abraham Norman Nortey Organizes Massive Clean-Up Exercise at UCC

Abraham Norman Nortey and his fellow students from the University of Cape Coast (UCC) organized a comprehensive five-hour cleanup initiative across the campus. The initiative’s objective was to raise awareness among the members of the University community regarding the importance of maintaining a clean environment.

Various areas targeted during the cleanup included the streets encompassing Ayensu Round Palace, Adwoa Dufie, Ayensu Plaza, and the Science Market. Tasks undertaken by the students encompassed gutter cleaning, street sweeping, and clearing of overgrown weeds.

After the cleanup, Mr. Abraham Norman Nortey, CEO of Visionary Norman Foundation, thanked the students for their enthusiastic participation. He emphasized the significance of sustaining a clean and hygienic environment to mitigate disease risks, reinforcing the adage “Cleanliness is next to Godliness.”

Norman urged students to avoid haphazard waste disposal on campus and encouraged the utilization of designated waste bins provided by the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) and the University at strategic locations to bolster waste management efforts.

He also lauded the support of the UCC Environmental Health Section, the Directorate of Public Affairs, Volunteers of Visionary Norman Foundation, and the Community Assembly for the success of this clean-up exercise. Norman further called upon other campus associations to initiate regular cleanup drives to complement the Environmental Health Section’s endeavors in preserving the University’s cleanliness.
