A renowned Ghanaian playwright and motivational speaker, Uncle Ebo Whyte on Sunday while addressing students of the University of Cape Coast tasked them to step up their academic effort in order to become globally competitive.
This was at a creative writing event put together by the department of English and the Creative Writers Club, UCC.
“Today, the job market is highly competitive and graduates in Ghana are competing for the same jobs with Chinese” he said. Mr. Whyte adviced students to broaden their horizon and be acceptive to new ideas and incorporate them for their self development.
He urged students to exploit their creative writing potentials through reading wide and also constant practise of writing.He then outlined some key qualities that are required for students who want to develop the skill of creative writing as having the ability to observe things,store and recall it when needed, the ability to perceive, simplicity, being open mindedness among others.
