The executives elect of the National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Secretariat have been sworn into office for one Academic year.
The Swearing-in ceremony took place at Felt Auditorium 900 yesterday.
Addressing the audience at the programme,the Dean of Students of UCC, Prof.Edjah Kwaow, expressed deep sadness about the provision of the current SRC constitution which had necessitated the change of title from NUGS President to NUGS Co-ordinator.
He called on the SRC to set -up a broad consultation team to draft a new constitution to among other things to consider the current title of the NUGS leader.
Prof.Kwaow admitted that the NUGS leader would be in a huge disadvantage with his colleagues in the other sister institutions regarding his title as Coordinator because in other institutions they are referred to as President.
He seized the chance to advised students to do away with suspicions,perceptions that are incorrect and unnecessary labouring,adding that,it would not help everybody.
The new NUGS officers are:.Micheal Chris Tetteh(Co-ordinator), Kwamena Wilson(Treasurer), Mamme Eunice(Women’s Commissioner), Anamoah Alex Kofi(PRO) and Essilfie Jacob Edward(Co-ordinating Secretary)
