Mr.Francis Arthur, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) president of the University of Cape Coast(UCC), on Thursday evening advised the out-gone Senior Members of the Valco Hall in particular and past students in general to always remember their alma mater in all their endeavours.
He said the university had contributed immensely to their success and that they should reciprocate the gesture wherever they found themselves in future.
Speaking at a handing-over ceremony for Senior Members of the hall, Mr.Arthur urged the members to be good ambassadors of the university.
He announced that the university management had set up an Institutional Advacement Office to,among other things, bridge the yawning gap between the Alumni section and the university.
He noted that whatever knowledge they had acquired on campus,they should impart that knowledge for the forward match of the country.
According to him,the graduands should acknowledge God in all their ways and directions.That, he noted, was the only way they could achieve their goals.
For his part, Mr.Ebenezer Agyemang,the Valco Hall president,thanked the out-gone Senior Members for their sense of maturity and the support they had given his administration till date.
On behalf of his colleagues ,Mr.Okrah Gordon,the newly-appointed president of the Senior Members, thanked the current hall executives for the confidence they had reposed in them,adding that they would justify the trust the hall had placed in them.
The newly- appointed Senior Members of Valco Hall for 2015/16 academic year are: Messrs Okrah Gordon,Chairman;Reuben Foster,Veep;Samuel Amponsah,Secretary;Francis Asamoah,Treasurer;Evans Ebuka Mensah,Spokesman,and Opoku Mensah Prince,Organiser.
Present at the ceremony was Mr.Kingsley Akowuah, the immediate past president of Valco Hall.
