TVET schools to receive buses by February

The Minister of Education, Hon. Yaw Osei Adutwum says on Wednesday that the central government this year February will commerce sharing of buses to Technical,Vocational Education training (TVET) institutions across the country.

Hon Osei, during an interview stated that the new buses are currently available in the country and ready for nationwide distribution to all public TVET schools next month.

“The buses are ready, so in February this year, President Akufo-Addo will distribute them to the TVET schools. This will help transport the students for practicals. The vehicles are at NVTI Headquarters in East Legon,” he said.

“His Excellency Nana Addo in due course will appoint Regional Technical, Vocational and Education Training (TVET) Directors in the 16 regions. The Directors will also be given cars, the cars are ready,” he added.

Also, management of TVET according to the MP, will be provided with pickup cars to run their day to day administration of the technical schools.

In his previous interview, he made mention that the procurement of the vehicles forms part of President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo effort to promote Technical, Vocational and Education Training (TVET) skills and education.

“Buses are ready to be distributed to the various public Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) schools added to the flagship Free SHS policy, President Akufo-Addo wants everybody to enjoy Free education,” he noted.

“What the President did for Senior High Schools sometime ago, he is going to do same for the TVET schools, they will also have their buses. All TVET students are now part of the Free SHS program,” the Teaching Minister told PeaceFM.
