The Student Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast(UCC) will today(Wednesday, 9th September, 2015) leave campus for Koforidua to participate in the upcoming NUGS Congress.
On Tuesday, in an interview with the Choicism.com,the SRC scribe,Elizabeth Dwamena,said the delegation,which will be led by Mr.Francis Arthur,the SRC president, comprises all the Traditional Halls’ presidents,one SRC representative from each hall,DESAG president,GRASAG president,Local NUGS officials,SRC officials and five observers.
The 49th National Union of Ghana Students(NUGS) congress will come off from Wednesday,September 9 and end on Sunday,September 13, 2015 with the election of new NUGS officers.
The theme selected for this year’s NUGS congress is:”Curbing Graduate Unemployment in Ghana;the Role of Stakeholders”.
The congress will be held at the Okuapoman Senior High School(OKUASS) in the Eastern regional capital,Koforidua.
Seth Sabah, the immediate past Valco Hall rep one,is contesting the position of NUGS Press and Information Secretary,whilst Yusif Ali Wakasu,former Kwame Nkrumah Hall Treasurer,is contesting for NUGS Treasurer.
In the absence of the Student leaders,the Office of the Dean of Students will take oversight responsibility of the council until further notice.
The high-powered student government delegation is expected on campus on Monday,September 14,2015.
