The management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Student Representative Council (SRC) hostel has called on students to patronize the hostel facility.
It indicated that students ought to patronize the SRC hostel first before resorting to hostels at the diasporas.
The management noted that the hostels have instituted security measures in place to protect its residents.
The management revealed that the hostel is in debt of GH12million but last academic year, it was able to defray GH150,000 of that amount..
It concluded by that plans are introduced to procure shuttles buses to conveys residents to and from Science and Oldsite.
In a related development, the Director of the University Health Service, Dr. Aziz Abubakari has urged students to patronize the student clinic located at Science beneath the Large Lecture Theatre (LLT).
Dr. Aziz indicated that a number of doctors have been posted to the facility to serve the student public and therefore students should seek services at the clinic instead of the university’s main hospital.
He said over the years there have concerns of students spending long hours at the main hospital and therefore the hospital management have fully sourced the students clinic to give effective health care service students.
