A statement released by the Public Relations Office of the Student’s Representative Council, SRC indicates that the university administration has appointed a new director of health services.
Dr. Evans Ekanem who was until now the Head of the Directorate of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital is the new director. He takes over from Alhaji Dr. K. K. Azeez.

UCC SRC: NOTICE TO STUDENTS ON THE APPOINTMENT OF NEW DIRECTOR OF UNIVERSITY HEALTH SERVICES
It is announced for the information of the University Community that the University Council on the recommendation of the Appointments and Promotions Board, appointed Dr. Evans Ekanem as Director of University Health Services.
Until his appointment to the position of Director, Dr. Ekanem was Head of the Directorate of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at the Cape Coast Teaching Hospital. He takes over from Alhaji Dr. K. K. Azeez.
This was contained in a letter signed by the Registrar and addressed to the SRC. It is the hope of the SRC that this appointment will lead to an improvement in health service delivery at the hospital. We look forward to a good working relationship with the new Director.
The SRC would like to take the opportunity to congratulate students on the successful completion of the first semester of this academic year. The SRC would also like to thank all students for their active participation in the organization and patronage of all the SRC programmes that were held this semester. We apologise for any lapses and have taken serious note of every concern.
