Management of the University of Cape Coast (UCC) has temporarily banned all hall and Students Representative Council week celebrations on its campus.
A notice issued by the University says the ban takes immediate effect.
This ban comes following Saturday’s violent clash between residents of the Atlantic Hall (ATL) and Oguaa Hall, both of the University.
The clash, left properties vandalized and left some students seriously injured.
Already the University has condemned the actions of the students and says that it is making efforts to bring the perpetrators of the violent actions to book.
Also, the Junior Common Room of the Atlantic Hall has condemned the actions and expressed their willingness to cooperate with any investigation on the matter.
It is unclear what triggered the fight between residents of the two halls but reports suggest that it started after a resident of the Casely Hayford Hall (CASFORD) was assaulted by some ATL residents in the Oguaa Hall.
The incident sparked a free-for-all fight, leading to the vandalization of property.
