UCC:Chairman General to launch SRC Week on March 19


The multiple award-winning morning show host, Mr.Kwame Sefa-Kayi, a.k.a Chairman General, will on Saturday,March 19 launch the 53rd Students’ Representative Council (SRC) Week at 12 noon.

The launch which will be held at the University of Cape Coast (UCC) Main Auditorium is expected to attract around 5000 students.

Mr.Sefa-Kayi, aged 46, who hosts the Peace FM’s morning show “Kokrokoo, is the main speaker for the occassion.

Speaking to the, Mr. Midley Gyasi, SRC Entertainment chairman, said first 100 students to enter the auditorium before the start of the programme would be given free branded SRC week shirts.

Midley, a former Valco Hall entertainment chairman, said the second speaker for the event is Prof. Bondzie Simpson, Founding Dean of the Faculty of Law,UCC.

Prof. K.T Oduro, Pro Vice-Chancellor, UCC, according to Midley,will chair the function, which is expected to last for 2 hours.

Midley called on all students to turn out in their numbers to grace the launch.

However, last month, Social media was abuzz with rumours that the artiste for the SRC week was Shatta Wale,the self-acclaimed Dance Hall king.

The SRC Week publicists, when contacted by, were tightlipped about the veracity or otherwise of the rumour.
