In a defining and historic moment on July 5, 2025, the Students’ Representative Council (SRC) of the University of Cape Coast launched its first-ever official SRC Cloth under the visionary leadership of the 62nd SRC President, His Excellency Abraham Norman Nortey.

The unveiling ceremony, held at the SRC Conference Room, drew together key student leaders, hall executives, faculty members, and students who gathered to witness a milestone symbolizing unity, resilience, and the enduring spirit of UCC students.
Describing the cloth as a “legacy initiative,” President Norman Nortey noted that the fabric goes beyond attire — it encapsulates the identity and voice of the student body. “This is more than clothing; it’s a representation of our shared values — boldness, intelligence, unity, and perseverance,” he shared, holding the cloth to loud applause.

Rich in symbolism and aesthetics, the cloth boldly features the student council’s motto, “The Voice of Students is the Power of the Future” — a mantra introduced during President Norman’s administration. It is intended for use at official events, ceremonial occasions, and as a cherished memento for both current and former students.
This launch adds to a series of impactful projects initiated under Norman’s leadership, including the 10GB Data Bundle Initiative, Norman Bus Stop, SWLT Footbridge, SRC Bolt Emergency Ride Service, Free Meals for hospitalized students, SRC Scholarship Fund, and the NHIS Registration & Renewal Drive.

As his term concludes, President Norman emphasized that the SRC Cloth stands as a lasting emblem of purposeful student leadership. “It will serve as a constant reminder of what can be accomplished when vision meets service,” he remarked.

Students can acquire the cloth at GHS 50.00 per yard via the official SRC GCB account and redeem it at the Office of the Dean of Students with proof of payment.
